Story: House Margeth is one of the most faithful families of Narton, but it was never a big, strong or influental house. This changed when the Magic Wars ended. When the mages had enough of their oppression in Narton, they rebelled and escaped to the south, occupying the mountains and hills south of the kingdom. Narton, however, refused to let all those mages run free and run their own kingdom, so the two factions waged war. The wars went on for years and both sides suffered great losses, so the war came to a halt and ended with a treaty that denied the mages of the newly founded Khirlatan Magistrate entry into Narton's lands, but also granted them a peaceful autonomy. Narton had successfully taken the town that lead into the Gateway, a valley that provided the only entrance into Narton from the south. The city of Nyamar was granted to the Worthons, a house of former mages that gave up the arcane arts and joined Narton during the wars. However, the King did not trust the former mages and made the Margeth's liege lords in the province and gave them the task to keep the Worthons under watch and control. This is how House Margeth rose from a minor family to lieges. The family itself did not enough power to command a province, so the King provided them with enough gold to build a castle and a host large enough. The House has ever since been pledged to the King and were one of the houses the refused to join the Young King Ramar in the War against the Demon after he had slain the Coward King. They joined after it was made clear that they cannot withstand Ramar's forces, and they could keep their privileges as lieges thanks to the King's fear of House Worthon's past.
